Position Details :
- Discipline : Special Education Teacher
- Dates : 8 / 12 / 2024-5 / 24 / 2025
- Hours : full-time (40hours / week)
- Caseload : Adapted curriculum teacher needed for High Schoolers; 10-12 students
Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of students enrolled in the Special Education program.
- Provide direct instruction and support to high school students with significant behavioral challenges, fostering academic and social-emotional growth.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including behavior specialists, therapists, and support staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Utilize evidence-based practices and behavior management techniques to address challenging behaviors and promote positive outcomes for students.
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, behavior interventions, and communication with parents and stakeholders.
Requirements :
- Active North Carolina Special Education license
- Must have a passion working with kids
- Experience with Adapted Curriculum Centralized or Self-Contained Program or similar is preferred
- Experience working with students with significant behavioral challenges preferred.
- Strong understanding of behavior management strategies and evidence-based interventions.
- Ability to establish rapport with students, families, and colleagues while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
- Commitment to fostering a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.
