Role Description

Thinx is seeking an exceptional communications strategist and public relations professional to lead external public relations globally, increase brand exposure among key audiences and develop innovative programs that maximize awareness and engagement for the Thinx brand.

The goal of this hire is to build a broadscale strategy and campaigns designed to reach consumers and key opinion leaders that bolster our reputation in the marketplace.

The role encompasses consumer PR, media relations, brand partnerships, internal comms, community building, organic social media and influencer marketing.

This role reports to the VP, Brand and manages two direct reports.

The Work You’ll Do :

  • Build strategic communications roadmap for Thinx that generates awareness, sparks curiosity, and generates brand love
  • Develop strong narratives that effectively land with the customer through earned media, on owned channels, via brand spokespeople, influencers, and ambassadors
  • Responsible for cohesive activation across organic social, influencers, branded partnerships and earned media
  • Lead special projects and participate in cross functional planning to generate word of mouth and integrate owned / earned activity with paid campaigns
  • Champion our commitment to product safety and sustainability with visible public relations campaigns
  • Play a key role in shaping our social impact strategy, championing our advocacy program for many years to come
  • Provide strategic oversight for community building through brand ambassadors and relevant brand partners
  • Build and refine our social strategy to meet key awareness and engagement objectives
  • Develop influencer marketing strategy that elevates the Thinx brand and integrates with broader awareness strategies across marketing and PR
  • Work with an influencer agency to identify and build relationships with prominent influencers and thought leaders
  • Coordinate with Kimberly-Clark corporate communications team to share knowledge and ensure strategic consistency across the portfolio

  • You are an expert at designing and implementing programs and processes that scale. You have a track record of developing award-winning, best-in-class campaigns that elevate and / or change brand perception for the better
  • You’re experienced in crisis management and the ability to think fast and on your feet with impeccable judgment
  • You love measuring impact and managing ambitious goals. You’re effective at setting clear goals and measuring the impact of initiatives - whether it’s about driving accuracy, time savings, or customer delight.
  • You possess problem-solving, leadership, organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills; and advanced knowledge in PR and brand advocacy.
  • You are a modern communications professional - adept at interpreting data from a variety of sources, communicating with that data , and using it to tell compelling stories .
  • You recognize technological advancements are shaping the field of communications as much as any other industry and remain curious about emerging trends such as chatbots, blockchain, virtual reality, extremely-personalized experiences, and artificial intelligence.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 12+ years of work experience leading comms strategy at a PR agency or in-house for a growing organization
  • Personally compelled and inspired by Thinx mission; individuals specifically interested in health and wellness, sustainability and other social issues thrive.
  • Extensive experience in social, influencer and ambassador marketing
  • Ensures integrated communications approach, considering all audiences and communications channels.
  • Has the ability to persuade and influence, has strong written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experienced people manage with a history of mentoring and inspiring team members; working to professionally develop teams to operate at their fullest potential
  • The candidate for this job position should be a strategic thinker and planner simultaneously with a passion for innovation.

Thinks strategically, but stays on top of tactical execution

First-rate written and verbal communication skills are also important. Experience in the media or the corporate sector is also essential for the position.

At Thinx, our compensation philosophy is driven by the goal of attracting, developing, and retaining the best people to further our mission, vision, and business goals.

Compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including and not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location.

The range of base annual salary for this position across the United States (including New York and California) is USD National Minimum of Base Compensation Range - High Base Compensation Hiring Target.

The actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

Base annual salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits that may be available.
