Job Description

The Staff Development Coordinator provides, plans, coordinates, and manages orientation and in-service education for facility employees.

The coordinator also takes on the role of the Infection Prevention / Control Coordinator and is responsible for designing systems and approving actions to prevent / control and monitor reports of infections and / or potential infections among residents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assess learning needs and design in-service and continuing ed programs based on quality assurance data to meet needs and regulatory guidelines
• Develop, implement, communicate, and evaluate annual training plan
• Develop specific teaching plans and programs to cover training needs for all roles on a regular basis
• Work with the Director of Nursing to ensure quality care is held to the highest standard and all facility policies and procedures are carried out by every staff member
• On call

Qualifications

• Must hold current unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Colorado
• Experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing preferred but not required. Background / training in infection control is preferred
• Current CPR certificate desired
