Senior System Administrator (On-site) NM

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior System Administrator to support onsite operations for the Department of Energy (DOE) and the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP). This position involves administering and maintaining complex computer networks and legacy systems in a high-security, regulated environment under NQA-1 quality assurance requirements.

Administer and maintain Linux, Solaris, and Windows-based systems within DOE / WIPP networks.

Manage system configurations, user access, backups, and data integrity in accordance with NQA-1 QA standards.

Support high-performance computing environments, including BeeGFS and InfiniBand infrastructure.

Perform system troubleshooting, patch management, and compliance monitoring.

Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Bash, and Python.

Collaborate with DOE security and QA teams to ensure compliance with DOE and WIPP cybersecurity standards.

Prepare and maintain documentation for audits, performance reports, and disaster recovery exercises.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 4 years of relevant experienceOR Bachelor’s and 8 years

OR Associate’s and 10 years

OR 12 years equivalent experience in lieu of degree.

Minimum 2 years’ experience maintaining high-performance or legacy systems under NQA-1 or equivalent QA requirements.

Proven experience managing Linux, Solaris, and / or Windows servers and BeeGFS environments.

At least one of the following certifications : Bacula Systems Administrator, CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Project+.

Experience with InfiniBand, Bacula Enterprise, database and website administration, and remote network management.

Clearance : Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance
