Registered Nurse (RN) - L&D

Job Description : Registered Nurse (RN) Labor & Delivery (L&D)

The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care.

Plans, implements, and documents nursing care based on patient's needs.

Identifies patient needs and determines priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.

Develops, implements and coordinates individualized plan of care for patients assigned through initial and on-going assessments.

Initiates assessment based on the patient's problems or needs, the physician's medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework.

Performs therapeutic nursing interventions.

Manages care of patients.

Documents care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and / or clinical priorities.

Advocates for evidence-based practice care standards and supports adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery.

Provides patient centric care in alignment with professional nursing practice model.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education Requirement : ASN.

Preferred Education : BSN Preferred.

Required Certifications & Licensure : BLS must be AHA.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities : 1+ year of experience in related specialty.

Experience :

Min 2 years of recent L&D experience Required.

Must have experience Circulating with C-sections.

Scrub experience- Preferred.

Experience with the following preferred : IV insertions, IV pumps, blood draws, labor bed experience, warmers, PCA and Epidural pumps, SCD machines, Pulse OX and O2 Setup.

Certifications / Licenses :

BLS-aha, ACLS-aha, and NRP Certifications all- Required.

C-EFM (Certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring)- Required

Schedule Notes : 6 : 30 PM - 7 : 00 AM

Every Other Weekend Required.

Holidays- As Needed.

No on Call.

Patient Ratio : 1 : 2- Max ratio 1 : 3. 130-160 births per month. 40-60 C-Sections per month.

RN will not be floated as an RN assignment but more as a PCT role, where they will be taking vitals and assisting the nursing staff
