Job Title : Clinical Specialist – Epic Acute

Duration of project : 6 months

Remote

(This is not a Build role but a Lead Role)

Role Purpose

We're seeking a Clinical Specialist with strong IT and operational expertise in Epic Acute modules (such as ClinDoc, Orders, ASAP, Stork, MyChart, etc.) to support our team with Epic-related projects, including system upgrades and enhancements. In this role, you'll drive product vision, roadmap development, and technical prioritization to ensure high-performing, user-centered solutions in a healthcare IT environment. This position requires a strong blend of application knowledge, technical acumen, and stakeholder collaboration.

Key Accountabilities

  • Understand the business unit's desired end-state model, including strategy, offerings, operations, and structure
  • Identify core business capabilities and processes, and the entities and interactions involved
  • Articulate interdependencies, orchestration, and workflows of products within the Epic Acute modules
  • Define product vision, roadmap, growth, and conversion opportunities based on business value or ROI
  • Provide direction to solution architects and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
  • Develop Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), assess value, create use cases, and ensure alignment with domain strategy
  • Lead product release planning and manage expectations for new functionality delivery
  • Actively mitigate impediments to ensure successful completion of release goals
  • Conduct research and analysis on industry trends, market needs, users, and product roadmap
  • Facilitate communication between service providers, vendors, architects, and stakeholders to align with product lifecycle activities
  • Understand operational use of the product and recommend improvements to performance metrics
  • Participate in cross-functional discussions to develop and implement new processes, standards, and high-level product requirements

Leadership & Interpersonal Skills

  • Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, including senior leadership and technical experts
  • Facilitate issue resolution through creative problem-solving, open dialogue, and negotiation
  • Demonstrate urgency in driving tasks to completion and escalate issues when necessary
  • Apply critical thinking, analytical skills, and sound judgment in decision-making
  • Write clearly and adapt messaging to suit different audiences
  • Build trust and respect with stakeholders
  • Exhibit proactive behavior and strong self-management, including adaptability and goal-setting
  • Foster effective relationships with partners and vendors, aligning with organizational goals and leading by example

  • Deliver high-quality work under pressure and within deadlines
  • Develop execution plans for priorities in collaboration with Business Relationship Managers, Solution Architects, and Service Delivery Managers
  • Qualifications

    Education & Experience

  • Active Epic certification in an Epic Acute module (ClinDoc, Orders, ASAP, Stork, MyChart, etc)
  • Epic IT build analyst experience required
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in solution roadmapping, design, or software development with increasing responsibility
  • Experience in a large global IT environment with sourced application development and maintenance (strongly preferred)
  • In-depth understanding of the software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies
  • Proven leadership in large-scale Epic implementations, upgrades, and Gold Stars programs
