About the role :
The Director, Sales Operations will be an integral member of the GIBU Leadership Team responsible for driving commercial excellence within the GIBU.
They are responsible for driving GIBU strategic priorities, providing operational oversight, and strengthening capabilities that contribute to the GIBU’s business performance, operational excellence, and culture.
The Director, Sales Operations will partner with GIBU Leadership and cross-functional teams to identify needs and gather input in order to drive excellence and efficiency for the GIBU sales team, including the IBD Sales Team, Rare Sales Team, and Key Account Management Team.

Lead a team of individuals who will drive business process improvements within the GIBU.Oversee the field sales reporting, key account management models, and operational excellence.
Oversee the GIBU best practices for field analytics, reporting, and CRM tools to support field sales strategy.Accountable for the SFE Leads who define and deploy future engagement models for field teams.
Oversee strategy, planning, and execution of GIBU-wide events (e.g. annual all-employee meeting).Partner with Communications to ensure alignment of culture and people initiatives to GIBU KPIs and priorities.
Lead and guide key GIBU initiatives, including development of work plans, budgets, risk mitigation, and support strategies.
Own the budget management for the GIBU franchise and function teams.Responsible for the sales support to the Head of the GIBU team to enable them to execute cross-brand strategic projects and initiatives.
Lead SFEs to perform deep analysis and synthesis of information provided by the Analytics and Insights teams.Identify the strengths, developmental opportunities, and career goals of each team member.
Provide effective, ongoing coaching that enables the growth and development of each team member.Challenge, hold accountable, and demonstrate measurable growth and development of high-performing team members.
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications :
Required :
- 10 years of pharmaceutical sales, marketing, or related functional experience within the bio-pharmaceutical industry.
- Minimum of 5 years of management-level experience.
- Demonstrated strategic leadership capability and building stakeholder relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across multiple functions.
- Demonstrated knowledge of key payor and government / advocacy trends.
- Demonstrated success in creating initiatives / programs, developing plans, and executing plans.
- Demonstrated ability to coach, delegate, and motivate a team.
- Knowledge of key pharma systems and processes (e.g., Incentive Comp plans, CRM).
Preferred :
- Advanced degree (MBA, MA / MS, PharmD, etc.).
- Pharmaceutical launch experience preferred.
- 2+ years of leading teams.
- 8+ years’ experience in project management / project leadership.
- Other experience such as Managed Markets, Marketing, Commercial Operations, or analytics roles.
- Experience with sales force sizing and alignment.
Travel Requirements :
Travel to internal and external meetings approximately 30% will be required.
