Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Production Manager will work closely with Quality, Production Scheduling, Maintenance and support functions to ensure the manufacturing operation runs safely, efficiently, and on time while maintaining premium quality standards. This position has extensive supervisory responsibilities including supervisor / lead positions, blenders, batchers, operators, and general laborers. This position operates in a fast-paced manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all safety and health standards are met to keep us accident-free
- Lead the shift supervisors and production staff in achieving daily, weekly, and monthly production targets
- Assist the plant manager with reducing manufacturing costs through use of process, equipment, and staff improvements
- Ensure the manufacturing equipment and tools function properly and increase efficiencies
- Coach shift supervisors and assist with their professional development
- Assist with ensuring that all new hires are properly and adequately trained to perform their job responsibilities at the highest level
- Help to control inventory losses and participate in month end inventory counts
- Work closely with QA to ensure quality products are consistently produced
- Motivating, supporting and providing guidance to production staff
- Communicating regularly with upper management regarding problems or issues impacting production
- Evaluating machine resources to ensure continued production and minimal downtime
- Establishing a balance between increased productivity and reduced costs of manufacturing operations
- Setting productivity goals for each manufacturing team
- Ensuring adequate scheduling of staff
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred but will consider relative work experience5+ years supervisory experience5+ years' experience in manufacturing; Food manufacturing preferredExcellent communication and coaching skillsStrong commitment to food safetySteady level of attention to detail and commitment to follow throughExperience with Microsoft Office suite; Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPointLocation : Douglassville, PA
