The Manufacturing Engineer III develops and implements the manufacturing processes required to support achievement of company daily, weekly and quarterly performance goals in the area safety, quality, throughput, delinquencies, productivity, first pass yield, and variable cost.
This position typically spends 50% of work time on the production floor and 50% of work time in an office environment. Must be a US citizen to be in the position
Primary Duties & Responsibilities :
- Looks for opportunities and develops manufacturing processes, process improvements, and provides related technical support.
- Analyze production data and look for trends indicating potential problems and develop solutions for potential problems.
- Provide process control systems in the form of instructions, standards, data collection and feedback loops.
- Utilize PCC toolboxes such as Lean Six Sigma in order to improve factory performance.
- Manage manufacturing related projects and coordinate activities with various internal and external suppliers.
- Develop manufacturing process designs and coordinate with tooling and equipment sources for construction and validation.
Review assembly operations, component designs, and corresponding details to verify manufacturing feasibility.
- Develop or review and authorize release of manufacturing engineering documentation and procedures.
- Utilize computer software programs to optimize existing processes.
- Develop and review selected tool designs to simplify methods, reduce production cost, or to support production floor operations.
Creates drawings, sketches, templates and other documents, for full implementation into new or existing processes.
- Conduct statistical process analysis and capability studies.
- Coordinate work operations with assigned manufacturing engineering personnel or other departments as necessary.
- Participates in the creation of detailed operation sequence and Standard Work documentation necessary for the production process.
- Ability to train and support lower level engineers
- Foster a Safety 24 / 7 culture; driving safety initiatives to ensure zero safety related incidents annually.

Required Skills and Experience :
- Has extensive knowledge of the concepts and standards used in part and process design with attention to defect formation, mismatch, and tooling failure.
- 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience
- 2+ years of Aerospace / Defense industry experience
- Ability to read blueprints at an intermediate level.
- Excellent computer skills with expertise in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- ERP system knowledge at an intermediate level.
- CAD (SolidWorks preferred) or 3D modeling system operation knowledge at an intermediate level.
- Project Management experience
- Highly organized, self-motivated individual who can work independently as well as work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Education / Certifications :
- BS Degree in Engineering degree, Mechanical Engineering preferred
- Lean / Six Sigma Certification preferred
Language Ability :
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $97,000 to $120,000 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors.
For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter.
