Acclaimed bakery Lost Larson is seeking a general manager to oversee operations for two retail shops located in Andersonville and Wicker Park.
Seeking an experienced leader to manage both bakery locations.
Established in 2018 in Andersonville, Lost Larson has grown to include a second outpost in Wicker Park. With a focus on regional grains and some of the best baked goods in the city, the bakeries continue to focus on crafting exceptional breads, pastries baked goods and coffee with friendly and engaging service.
With a continual focus on quality and great customer service, the ideal candidate has expereience managing a team of 10 - 15 with strong interpersonal skills, enjoys early mornings
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Oversee the hiring, training, and performance management of baristas, counter staff and cafe kitchen staff
- Ensure that the shop is fully staffed and that employees are scheduled appropriately to meet the demand
- Conduct hiring interviews, mentor, train, and conduct in-the-moment coaching to develop teams and deliver sales
- Monitor inventory levels of food and beverage supplies, and place orders as needed
- Ensure that the business is in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and contractors
- Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to develop and implement promotions and special events
- Monitor financial performance and prepare regular reports for stakeholders
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices
- Ensure that customer service standards are met or exceeded, and that customer feedback is incorporated into operations improvements
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements include :
- At least 2 years management experience
- An enthusiasm for hospitality and guest satisfaction
- A positive attitude towards fellow employees, strong leadership skills and attention to detail, and the ability to work in a team environment
- Candidates should be highly organized and efficient
- Serve safe Manager Certified
- Flexible schedule (must be able to work weekends and holidays)
- Team player with enthusiastic outlook and creative mind
- Strong decision making abilities
- Ability to work independently and with all levels of leadership in a fast paced environment
- Business development or entrepreneurial experience a plus
