About The Position

Description :
The position serves to provide quality speech and / or language therapy services to a diverse patient population for the rehabilitation of individuals with various developmental, cognitive, emotional, and physical disabilities.
The role involves planning and administering medically based speech therapy for both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Responsibilities include assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results for patients of all ages and documenting findings in the electronic health record.
The Speech-Language Pathologist will determine speech therapy treatment plans based on physician referrals or in consultation with physicians.
Setting realistic treatment goals will depend on the patient's physical and mental abilities, needs, evaluation findings, and diagnosis.
Adjustments and modifications to therapy plans will be recommended and implemented based on patient progress.
Documentation of assessment results, treatment, follow-ups, and termination of services must be recorded in patient records.
The Speech-Language Pathologist will select and construct therapies according to individual patient goals and needs.
Instruction in appropriate speech-language procedures / therapies or home programs will be provided to patients, families, and staff to facilitate the carryover of therapeutic remediation goals into daily activities.
Specialty services may include swallowing evaluation, Videofluoroscopy, Modified Barium Swallowing, Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing, cognitive treatment, voice treatment, pediatric speech / language therapy, and pediatric feeding evaluation.
Additional responsibilities include participation in specialty clinics and the direction and development of the speech therapy services, focusing on quality improvement, risk management, and safety.
The position requires compliance with relevant certification and regulatory standards as well as organizational policies and procedures.
Training and in-services for staff education will be provided.
Collaboration with the physical rehabilitation team and other healthcare professionals is essential.
Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Maintaining credentials to serve on the medical staff is required.
