SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

Assist with construction projects and perform general duties involving physical labor. Laborers work construction projects, excavations, and demolition.Operate a variety of equipment including hand and power tools, air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, and surveying and measuring equipment. Perform many tasks that require physical strength such as loading and unloading equipment and materials

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Follow all DeMaria processes and procedures as outlined in the corporate manual
• Provide assistance to craft workers with material, layout, and installation of products
• Load, unload, and identify building materials, machinery, and tools, and distribute them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans and specifications
• Operate a variety of equipment including hand and power tools : air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, and surveying and measuring equipment
• Erect and disassemble scaffolding, shoring, braces, traffic barricades, ramps, and other temporary structures
• Assist in the building and positioning of forms for pouring concrete, and dismantle forms after use with saws, hammers, nails, or bolts
• Apply form release agent
• Set up concrete pump systems
• Properly place concrete in formed walls and flatwork
• Proper use of concrete vibration equipment
• Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
• Perform various tasks during all stages of construction
• Lubricate, clean, and repair machinery, equipment, and tools
• Control traffic passing near, in, and around work zones
• Ability to work as a team member and foster a cooperative work environment
