JOB DESCRIPTION
As the Moda Furniture Store Manager, your primary role is to lead the entire store team, guiding them towards driving sales through a vibrant, customer-centric culture.
You'll oversee all aspects of store operations, including selling, merchandising, maintenance, expense management, shortage prevention, and sales support.
Additionally, you'll focus on developing a high-performing team of executives and associates through coaching, follow-up, and recognition.
You'll also be expected to fulfill any other duties as required.
DAILY TASKS
- Ability to evaluate financial and business indicators and translate data into actionable information to drive results.
- Drive sales by fostering a customer-centric, fun, and engaging culture.
- Demonstrate desired behaviors for staff including driving sales, handling difficult and / or complicated sales, cash management, inventory, and follow-up with customers.
- Maintain awareness of market trends in the retail industry, understanding forthcoming trends and adapting as necessary.
- Develop team in store through coaching and proper management.
- Analyze sales figures and forecast future sales.
- Effectively control and analyze the floor inventory, placement, and design of the store for the most efficient and effective outcome in terms of sales and customer experience.
- Deal with staffing issues such as interviewing potential staff, conducting assessments and performance reviews, as well as providing or organizing training and development as needed.
- Ensure standards for quality, customer service, and health and safety are met.
- Update colleagues on business performance, new initiatives, and other pertinent issues.
- Be aware of the sales floor constantly, talking to colleagues and customers and identifying or resolving urgent issues and / or trends.
- Monitor customer initiatives and what local competitors are doing.
- Coach employees and manage based on the weekly store scorecard metrics and meetings.
- Celebrate and recognize individual and team success.
- Ensure that all company communications, policies, and practices are in place.
- Maintain high customer readiness standards, delivering a clean, neat, and easy-to-shop environment.
- Ensure that appropriate staffing levels are met.
- Build a culture of recognition by motivating and recognizing good performance.
- Be responsible for maintaining strict cash control procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Sales Experience : Must have experience in sales, especially in closing difficult sales.
- Education / Experience : A minimum of 1-3 years of retail management experience preferred. Furniture experience preferred.
- Leadership Skills : Possess a proven track record of effective leadership in professional settings. We are seeking individuals who can inspire and motivate teams, exhibit strong decision-making skills, and demonstrate the ability to foster collaboration and innovation.
- Communication Skills : Demonstrates strong listening, written, and verbal communication skills. Excellent ability to interpret instructional documents, such as reports and procedure manuals.
Ability to influence at all levels, as well as a demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team and be assertive in driving successful management strategies.
- Mathematical Skills : Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Ability to understand key metrics including sales, profitability, shortage calculations, and retail math.
- Reasoning Ability : Self-starter, able to work independently and as part of a team. Demonstrate an ability to set objectives and goals and organize work appropriately to meet and exceed goals.
- Physical Demands : This position involves constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, and standing. Involves standing for at least two consecutive hours.
Involves lifting at least 50 lbs. May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. Optical abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Independence : Must be able to independently and proficiently make decisions that benefit and grow the company.
- Other Skills : Must be able to function as part of a team and collaborate with team members. Possess a strong sense of urgency.
Must enjoy meeting and interacting with customers. Possess a thirst for learning. Should be comfortable with the use of computers and frequent use of basic office equipment.
