Summary :

The RN Supervisor is accountable for supervising thedelivery of high-quality, cost-effective care to patients.Responsible in assisting the Director for analyzing, planning,implementing, evaluating, and communicating processes and programswhich enhance, strengthen and integrate the services comprising thenursing department.

Responsible for participation in thedevelopment and implementation of the service line strategicbusiness plans; and for creating an environment, which continuouslysupports improvement of operational, financial, and clinicalcomponents.

Assumes primary responsibility foreffective supervision of nursing activities of assigned area(s).Assists management of financial and human resources to ensureservices meet established quality and productivity standards.

Provides feedback and assistance concerning customer satisfaction,staff development, and associate performance and satisfaction.

The Supervisor is responsible for the daily operationsof a Nursing department on a 24-hour basis. The Supervisorcollaborates with other clinical and ancillary departments to meetorganizational and department-specific Quality and Safety Measures,Community Values, Business Literacy, and Service Excellencegoals.

CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi -Shoreline overlooking Corpus Christi Bay is the largest andforemost acute care medical facility in the region, with a fullrange of diagnostic and surgical specialty services in cardiac,cancer, and stroke care.

It is the leading emergency facility inthe area with a Level II Trauma Center in the Coastal Bend, staffedwith physicians and nurses specially trained in emergency services.

Responsibilities :

  • Implementing andmonitoring programs and practices for the delivery of safe andefficient quality nursing care for patients and theirfamilies.
  • Ensuring consistent application ofnursing services policies and standards throughout theorganization.

  • Overseeing the performance of teams; identifying and addressingstaff training and development needs.

  • Adjusts management and personal style tofit the needs of different people and differentsituations.
  • Explores motivational factors andtailor's motivational efforts to individual needs and situationsfor the department.
  • Conducts evaluations onpersonnel performance at the workplace and recommends improvementplans.
  • Coaches others on operating personnelmanagement systems and their processes.
  • Manages day-to-day labor needs by maintaining optimum staffinglevels.

JobRequirements : Education / Skills

Education / Skills

Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursingrequired for Magnet facilities, otherwise preferred.

Experience

  • 2 years of clinical patient care experience ina relevant setting.
  • Previous Lead orSupervisor experience overseeing work of assigned units, preferred.

Previous healthcare managementexperience preferred.

Licenses, Registrations, orCertifications

  • BLSrequired.
  • RN License in state of employmentor compact.
