Job Summary / Purpose : To transport students to and from school and school-related events in a safe and efficient manner.
Minimum Qualifications :
Education : High School Diploma or GED required.
Knowledge / Skills : Candidates must possess, or have the ability to obtain, a CDL license with School Bus and Passenger endorsements;
ability to pass annual physical and dexterity testing; ability to multi-task, problem solve and maintain positive interpersonal relationships.
Experience : Must be 21 years old; professional driving experience preferred.
Duties / Responsibilities : Transport students of all ages to and from school and extra-curricular activities in compliance with all State laws and guidelines as well as District policies and procedures.
Examples of Work Performed :
- Operate school bus in a safe and timely manner.
- Manage student behavior and maintain discipline on school bus.
- Maintain effect communication via two-way radio system.
- Contribute to a positive working environment for Transportation staff.
- Conduct and record pre-trip inspections to help ensure cleanliness, safety, proper mechanical functions and adequate fuel level.
- Maintain punctual and consistent attendance.
- Maintain and track route data as mandated by District and State regulations.
- Report mechanical problems appropriately.
- Submit necessary District reports and paperwork in timely manner.
- Conduct safety drills with students as required by the State of Missouri.
- Interpret routes and maps as needed.
- Attend monthly safety meetings and all training workshops.
Salary : Entry level $22.00
Hours : Vary - minimum of 25 hours per week
