Vice President of National Sales
The Vice President of National Sales is responsible for planning and directing all aspects of National sales and other activities with the purpose of meeting sales growth plans outlined in the BU’s strategic plan as it relates to National Single Family and Multi Family Builders.
- The Vice President is responsible for the growth and success across regional lines in both multifamily and single-family sales efforts;
- ensures operations comply with company policies, internal controls and with all applicable laws. This position relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals;
performs a variety of tasks; works with and directs the work of others across regions; and a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains and enhances National single-family builder and multifamily GC business unit’s sales policies, goals, directions and guidelines to standardize high quality sales growth.
- Works with all management teams (sales and plant) to focus on sales and margin for all product types growth across regional lines.
- Sets standards of performance and specific actions that drive sales and profits consistent with Company’s policies and goals.
- Coordinates sales forecasting, planning, and budgeting processes.
- Helps create and manage all aspects of UFP Site Built based elite sales training program.
- Coordinates planning activities with other functions and stakeholders within the company.
- Identifies opportunities for specific customer growth within the BU and works closely with management teams to implement processes to attain growth goals and budgets.
- Evaluates sales performance to budget. Plans and initiates sales strategies to meet those budgets.
- Sets and maintains sales objectives, goals and operating short and long-term plans with the single family and multifamily builder market.
- Interacts with customers to expand business and develop positive relationships. Supports plants’ sales effort in all regions.
- Develops and / or approves specific single family customer policies, standard practices, and procedures as required.
- Understands and promotes the use of technology to connect the BU to customers. Specifically, the introduction of how TrussTrax could be utilized in the national builders sales / design / delivery / invoice process.
- Ensures the sales operations within the BU comply with all applicable laws, rules and regulations and all Company policies and procedures.
- Ensures that plant’s sales operations are consistent with Company and OSHA policies, practices and procedures.
- Prepares various reports and performs other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in related discipline or equivalent experience is required.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in sales management.
- Working knowledge in a variety of sales and manufacturing concepts, practices and procedures.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Preferred experience and knowledge with UFP’s organization, culture, product lines and production capacity.

- Ability to travel as needed to attend meetings and events in all regions.
- Ability to pass a drug test.
