Responsibilities
- Harness the latest advancements in Data Science, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to pioneer new approaches that significantly help our sustainability objectives and drive efficiency across our data center operations.
- Translate complex data into compelling narratives and present findings, along with strategic recommendations, to stakeholders at all levels of management.
- Lead the design and implementation of experiments to validate hypotheses and measure the effectiveness of new approaches, ensuring robustness and reliability of findings.
- Provide feedback to the engineering team to identify potential future business opportunities and new product capabilities.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to the professional development of the broader data center innovation team, fostering a culture of curiosity, experimentation, and continuous learning.

QualificationsRequired Qualifications :
Doctorate in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 3+ years data-science experience (e.
g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)
OR Master's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 5+ years data-science experience (e.
g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)
OR Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 7+ years data-science experience (e.
g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)
- OR equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in being a data scientist.
- 3+ years of experience in working with software engineering teams, hardware engineering teams, and / or data science teams.
Other Requirements :
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and / or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings :
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check : This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire / transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience with various generative AI technologies including advanced prompt engineering, model fine tuning and large-scale deployment.
- Proven experience working with large-scale product and service telemetry systems, demonstrating a deep understanding of data collection, processing, and analysis methodologies.
- Experience with Exploratory Data Analyses, Inference analysis, Predictive analysis (Regression, Classification etc.) and forecasting.
- Proven foundation in applied statistics and mathematics, with the ability to apply advanced analytical techniques to solve complex problems.
- Fluency in analytical programming languages such as Python.
- Experience with Experiment Design and analysis.
- Ability to clearly communicate ideas, simplify and formalize complex ideas.
Data Science IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
