Job Title : Machine Operator
Job Location : North Chicago, IL
Job Type : Temp to Hire
Pay : 1st / 2nd Shift : $16-$18 (Based on Experience)
Shift Structure : 1st Shift : Monday-Thursday 5 : 00am-4 : 30pm
2nd Shift : Monday-Thursday 3 : 45pm-2 : 30am
About the Machine Operator Role :
Machine Operators are scheduled to start prior to the beginning of the shift to prepare their line. Job requires work in a hazardous environment.
Meet all requirements of Job Functions Analysis. This position involves safety-sensitive functions.
Job Responsibilities :
Set up of jobs.
Pre-Production check to verify proper : tank hook-up, lot number, components, weights, etc.
Verify that machines are functioning properly.
Record all downtime on downtime sheets.
Ensure product meets quality requirements.
Clean / flush equipment as needed.
Meet or exceed established production rates.
Verification of set-up, components, in-process materials, and finished goods.
Able to set-up, run and clean a minimum of one (1) machine / line in an Area.
Will be back-up to Level 2 Line Operator for a minimum of one (1) machine in an Area.
Perform post-operative line clearance.
Investigate any low yields on runs.
Train new Line Operators as needed.
Communicate work with Packaging Maintenance on machine / equipment issues.
Active member of Scrap, Waste or Safety team.
Execution of activities as assigned. Responsibilities involving food safety, when required.
Qualification requirements for Machine Operator :
Has met all Packer Stacker requirements and demonstrated the ability to effectively pack, stack and label products according to customer specifications.
Must be able to wear respirator.
Basic Math, writing, and reading skills needed.
Must have at least 2 years of forklift experience.
Minimally lift 50lbs frequently during shift.
Ability to read and understand job requirements and material specifications.
