IT Technician

PleaseNote : This is a parttime Onsite 5 hours job (Office hours7.30 AMPST to 12 : 30 PM PST) Monday toFriday.

JobDescription :

Theclient is hiring an IT Specialist to provide analytical advisorytechnical expertise and analysis to 60 FSS / FSDE Education &Training Section activities including performing and managing avariety of communication and information technologytasks.

• Requiresnetwork administrative privileges to performduties.
• Requiredto maintain training and certification requirements in order tosustain elevated rights to the appropriate domain(s).
• PerformsCommunicationsComputer Systems (CCS) planning and implementationactivities.
• Providessupport to communications systems current and future planningactivities.
• Supportsimplementation of CCS projects and ensures CCS architectureconfiguration and integration conformity.
• Providesanalytical advisory technical functional and management oversightto network upgrades and maintenance regarding criticalcommunications systems for theFSDE.
• Providehardware and software system administration on all FSDE computersprinters network hardware and other peripherals critical to properfunction of FSDE Information Technology (IT)systems.
• Promptlycontact the 60 FSS IT department for any issues related to systemnetwork outages that may affect proper functioning of serversswitches androuters.
• Providesite specific installation configuration and instructiondocumentation of FSDE ITsystems.
• Establishprocedures for safeguarding all critical data and design backupmethodology to guarantee uninterruptedservice.
• Maintain(backup integrity check etc.) data files and monitor systemconfiguration to ensure data integrity. This includes but is notlimited to planning installing operating backing up data recoveryand maintaining a variety of operating systems such as but notlimited to various Microsoft products and the configurationadministration OS hardening system maintenance and troubleshooting;

as well as identifying installing and maintaining systemhardware.

Implementany new systems (software / hardware) as required; setup newcomputers and other information systems in a timely manner tosupport gradual FSDE IT improvement.

This may require contractor toremove / assemble furniture.

• Maintainexisting systems and environments in accordance with (IAW) Industrybest practice and sustain applications databases and interfaces incompliance with applicable AF & Department of Defense (DoD)standards
• Assistin research and purchase of all information systems and componentsrequired to improve existingstructure.
• Providerecommendations for future planning and improvements to theexisting information systems structure for thefacilities.
• Providefor proper information security on all systems and educatepersonnel on proper security procedures to protect sensitive dataandrecords.
• Trainoffice personnel on how to use the required software so that theycan execute their jobs moreefficiently.
• Performany other critical system support as required for successfuloperation of ITtechnology.
• Performas the alternate equipment custodian for all ETS equipment conductan annual inventory and forward to ETS Chief and FSS IT.

Conductinventory and account for all new equipment within 72 hours ofreceipt and ensure all accountable items are added to the ETS ADPElisting.

Inthe event of an emergency (total system disabled etc.) theContractor shall respond within four (4) hours from the time ofcall / request.

Requirements

BasicQualifications :

• Candidatemust have a Bachelors degree with proven minimum of 5 years ofexperience.
• Candidatemust have the following certifications in both the hardware andsoftware applications : A and Security.
• Experiencewith (AFAEMS) and network ismandatory.
• Candidates qualifying documentation shall demonstrate the minimum oneyearexperience.
• Knowledgeof and / or experience with computer / network security ismandatory.

PreferredExperience :

• Experiencewith testing updates from Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT)Windows Private Desktop System My Learning Career DevelopmentCourse (CDC) Assessment System and other updates as necessary isdesired but notmandatory.
• Excellentcustomer service skills and verbal communication skills areessential; appropriate related professional work or volunteerexperience of at least one (1) year is highlydesirable.

Basic Qualifications : Minimum knowledge, skills, abilities needed.Bachelor s Degree and 7 years of work experience, Master s Degreeand 5 years of work experience, or 11 years of relevant experiencein lieu of a degree.

Must possess the F5 Certified TechnologySpecialist or Solutions Expert Level Certification. Seasonedindustry professional with 3 -5 years of hands-on server loadbalancing experience in medium to large enterprise networks.

4 yearof experience with network connectivity for physical andvirtualized servers. 4 year of Experience installing andconfiguring network equipment such as routers, switches, firewalls,etc.

4 year of experience with the communication network usingTCP / IP protocol. Demonstrate strong oral and written communicationskills, with the ability to communicate technical topics tomanagement and non-technical audiences, as well as interface withthe customer on a daily basis.

Must be able to obtain a Position ofTrust designation Preferred Qualifications : Candidates with theseskills will be given preferential consideration.

Passed VMWare DataCenter Virtualization or End User Computing examination PassedCisco CCNP Certification Prior hands on experience with Cisconetworks Knowledge of networking protocols such Domain Name Server(DNS), Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) Knowledge of IProuting protocols and implementations
