Marine Technical Service Representative
As a Marine Technical Service Representative , you will assist customers during dry dockings, attend required checkpoints, investigate product complaints, and provide product application assistance for our contractors / clients.

Provide documentation on marine coating projects for PPG Protective & Marine Coatings (PMC).
The Marine Technical Service Representative will work independently and within teams to complete projects. You will represent the territory and report to the Manager of Field Tech Services.
Also, weekly travel will be required to cover projects in other regions when work is slow in the San Diego area.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate product complaints using defined test protocols and report results.
- Complete written reports of dry dockings and other marine coating investigations.
- Product benchmarking - conduct internal and external product testing, document and report results.
- Applications testing - complete hands-on application testing.
- Ensure that accurate safety attitudes, procedures, and site rules are observed on all work programs and conduct work in a manner that protects self, co-workers, the environment, and the safety of the community.
- Operate and maintain field coating inspection test equipment following established specifications.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years practical marine coating experience.
- NACE Certified Coating Inspector - Level 3, with 3-5 years practical experience working on U.S. Navy vessels.
- Prior experience with coating inspections.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Basic computer literacy and proficiency with programs such as Word, Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets), Microsoft Office Suite.
