System Engineer – Industrial Controls
Essential Functions & Responsibilities :
- Provide industrial / commercial control systems engineering services for ISI customers, including SCADA systems, PLC programming, CAD drawings, industrial networking, and system calibration.
- Support instrument technicians in the field with device interfacing, testing, and technical support.
- Collaborate with other system engineers to manage project backlogs and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Assist with local and broader ISI projects as needed.
- Document job activities, service calls, parts, and orders thoroughly.
- Identify opportunities for system upgrades at customer facilities.
- Travel using company vehicle to job sites, adhering to defensive driving practices.
Essential Mental Functions :
Strong background in electrical / electronic engineering, process instrumentation, and process engineering.Self-motivated, self-driven, and capable of self-management.Energetic, technically competent, resourceful, with attention to detail.Proficient in computer skills including :Microsoft Visual Basic and other programming softwareAutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar CAD softwareUnderstanding of networks and network structuresProgramming in multiple languages and scriptingBasic familiarity with radio communications and protocols.Understanding of industrial controls, PID loops, pump control, calibration, and repairs.Knowledge of analog current loops and conversion processes.Strong electrical knowledge and understanding of the National Electrical Code.Familiarity with equipment such as hand tools, volt-ohm meters, power tools, and instrument loops.Physical Functions & Equipment :
Ability to lift objects up to 75 lbs.Ability to stand, kneel, walk, climb ladders and stairs for extended periods.Availability for occasional call-ins and overnight travel.Work outdoors and indoors, exposed to weather, equipment, and elements.Travel nationally as required.Preferred Education & Experience :
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering (required); Master's degree preferred.1-3+ years programming PLCs (Allen Bradley, Automation Direct, MOSCAD, etc.).Experience with process / flow control is highly desirable.1-3+ years experience with HMI software (Wonderware, VTSCADA, Lookout, etc.).Strong computer proficiency in measuring and controlling variables.Clean driving record required.FCX Performance, an Applied Industrial Technologies company, is a leading provider of technical products and services across industries.
