Your Opportunity

We are seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer for our Energy & Resources business line to lead a team of electrical engineers and designers in the execution of THERMAL GENERATION PROJECTS. The project scope will be for either Owner's Engineer or Detailed Engineering / Design services for simple cycle, combined cycle, and / or repowering projects. The individual must be an excellent communicator and skilled problem-solver with a strong attention to detail and teamwork. Your Key Responsibilities

• Work with clients to solve their problems by assembling and leading an electrical engineering project team comprised of engineers, designers, and specialists. Build the plan, lead the team, change management along the way, and assure a quality outcome.
• Apply design skills to prepare or coordinate the preparation of contract drawings, specifications, schedules, details, and sketches from conceptual design through to construction.
• Collaborate with electrical team members, other Stantec disciplines, and clients to achieve project success, acting as a project team member or a project leader.
• Successfully carry out assignments on project design teams.
• Effectively communicate with other team members in the department or project team.
• Manage and lead electrical aspects of projects.
• Assist in developing proposals.
• Provide technical expertise, mentoring and support to team members.
• Conduct quality assurance and quality control on own projects and projects of peers.
• Develops project scope, budgets, and design approach for all size projects.

Education and Experience

The successful candidates will primarily work in a flexible office environment. Some field work and periodic travel may be required.
