Summary of Role :
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Construction Manager with at least 1year of experience in managing construction projects, preferably in the Outside Plant (OSP) telecommunications industry. The Construction Manager will oversee field operations, coordinate with subcontractors, ensure quality standards, maintain project timelines, and manage safety compliance on job sites. This role requires extensive travel (34 weeks at a time) to various project sites across the region.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Manage day-to-day field construction activities for OSP projects (aerial and underground fiber installations).
- Supervise and coordinate the work of field crews, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Ensure adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
- Conduct job site inspections to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations.
- Review construction plans and specifications; communicate project goals and deliverables to teams.
- Prepare daily / weekly reports documenting project progress, delays, safety incidents, and resource usage.
- Act as a liaison between project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure smooth execution.
- Resolve field issues promptly to avoid project delays or budget overruns.
- Monitor inventory, tools, and equipment usage on-site.
- Ensure proper documentation of work completed including as-builts, redlines, and photos.
Non-Essential Duties :
Assist with estimating and bid preparation for upcoming OSP projects.Participate in customer meetings or site walks as needed.Support onboarding and training of new field personnel.Recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Working knowledge of OSP construction methods including trenching, boring, plowing, aerial placement, and splicing.Familiarity with interpreting construction drawings, schematics, and GIS mapping systems.Strong organizational and time management skills.Ability to lead teams and manage multiple crews across different locations.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and project tracking software.Knowledge of relevant safety regulations (OSHA, DOT) and the ability to enforce them on-site.Problem-solving and decision-making skills in high-pressure situations.Ability to maintain detailed documentation and reporting for project management and compliance.Education and Experience Requirements :
High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification preferred.Minimum of 1year of experience in construction management, preferably in OSP or utility construction.Mental and Physical Requirements :

Must be able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.Must possess strong attention to detail and sound judgment.Ability to assess risks, make quick decisions, and resolve conflicts in the field.Physical :
Ability to work in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions.Must be able to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods.Regularly required to lift and carry materials / equipment up to 35 lbs.Must be able to safely navigate construction sites including climbing ladders, entering trenches, and walking uneven terrain.Ability to operate or work near heavy machinery and vehicles.Travel Requirement :
Must be willing and able to travel for 34 weeks at a time to project sites across the region.Travel may include overnight stays, extended work hours, and weekend work depending on project demands.Compensation & Benefits :
