Financial Reporting Manager

Job Summary :

The Financial Reporting Manager is responsible for assisting with the timely preparation of the Companys internal and external financial information technical accounting research and documentation for complex financial transactions and new accounting standards and maintaining compliance with all internal controls.

Supervisory Responsibilities :

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Manage the preparation of monthly business unit and consolidated financial statements including cash flow statement in accordance with US GAAP requirements
  • Assist in the preparation of all 10-Q and 10-K filings and associated earnings release documents and preparation of related supporting financial statement schedules and tie-out
  • Contributes to financial close cycles, primarily preparation of debt, hedge, equity, lease, and capitalized software, monthly journal entries, account reconciliations and preparation of information needed for GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
  • Management of the Companys equity plan administration system and related accounting for equity compensation and employee stock purchase plans
  • Monitor and ensure timely identification and compliance with evolving accounting guidance provide US GAAP interpretation and prepare technical memorandums.

Perform calculations related to complex technical accounting topics and provide guidance on the proper accounting and related financial statement presentation

  • Responsible for the preparation of required internal and external audit documentation and requests
  • Maintain compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley internal controls over financial reporting
  • Complete various debt covenant calculations and recurring debt compliance reporting.
  • Other ad hoc projects and reporting as necessary

Skills / Abilities :

  • Knowledge of GAAP and SEC rules & regulations
  • Ability to read and interpret accounting rules and guidance as well as perform research and conduct investigations as necessary
  • Knowledge of financial consolidations eliminations and segment reporting.
  • Detail oriented accurate organized and ability to work independently and manage time effectively in order to prioritize workload of multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic fast-paced growing environment.

Education and Experience :

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance is required
  • CPA preferred but not required
  • Public accounting experience required
  • 5-7 years of experience in the accounting / financial reporting areas
  • Experience with Workiva a plus

Physical Requirements :

Work is performed indoors with potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to office work. Could periodically travel to other office and operational sites.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Individual pay decisions will depend on job-related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed.

Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan.

Full-time SelectQuote employees are eligible for medical, dental, vision, voluntary short-term disability, company-paid long term disability, company-paid life insurance and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D), 401(k) + company match and 100% vesting after 4 years, discretionary profit sharing, employee stock purchase program (espp), paid time off, floating holidays, paid maternity leave, paid parental bonding leave, tuition reimbursement, jury duty pay, and other paid leaves vary based on work location.
