Summary of Job Duties :

The Little Rock Public Radio Development Coordinator oversees and manages all major gift efforts, and acts as team lead for the station’s membership campaigns / events and fundraising efforts to maintain and expand the membership base of Little Rock Public Radio.

The Development Coordinator reports directly to the General Manager and coordinates all efforts with the Little Rock Public Radio leadership team.

This is a provisional position. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency / institution policy.

Qualifications :

Required Education and / or Experience :

Bachelor’s degree.

Preferred Education and / or Experience :

Three (3) years of experience in development, marketing, public relations, volunteer management, or a related field.

Job Duties and / or Responsibilities :

Design and manage routine solicitations and specialized fundraising projects including but not limited to major gifts solicitation, mid-level gift solicitation, capital campaigns, foundation grants, and planned giving solicitation campaigns by direct mail, email, social media, and telemarketing;

and other fundraising projects

  • Plan, design and implement special events / projects that provide additional funding, heighten awareness of the stations and / or serve the community in a significant way
  • Work with the station leadership team on strategic planning and setting station policies
  • Work with the Underwriting Coordinator to solicit major sponsors for events and fundraising efforts
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with possible major donors
  • Serve as team lead for the efforts of the Membership Coordinator and the Underwriting Coordinator to meet strategic fundraising goals
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Knowledge of philanthropy and fundraising principles;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Experience in designing and directing events or campaigns;
  • Evidence of supervisory skills;
  • Familiarity with the use of social media for fundraising and outreach;
  • Affinity for public radio;
  • Ability to work occasional nights and weekends;
  • Ability to use a database management system;
  • Ability to work in a website content management system.
