Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Laboratory Technician (Part Time Nights) - $10K Sign-on Bonus

This position is eligible for a sign on bonus of up to $10,000.

Job Summary : Responsible for analyzing, evaluating and interpreting various specimens for the detection, diagnosis and treatment of a variety of medical conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of patient specimens according to established procedures. Perform specimen collection and other specimen handling duties as needed.
• Operate complex biomedical electronic instrumentation including calibration, maintenance, quality assurance and troubleshooting.
• Perform and analyze quality control procedures including daily testing, recording, problem resolution and compiling reports to assure accuracy of all results.
• Review and verify the accuracy of tests results before entering in information system.
• Maintain a proper inventory of supplies needed in order to provide continuous service, minimizing downtime.
• Evaluate test results for accuracy, reportability and clinical significance and report accordingly.
• Maintain current knowledge of specialty by attending seminars, in-services and reading journals.
• Evaluate new methodologies and instrumentation under the guidance of the Section Chief and report findings and recommendations.
• Assume supervisory responsibilities in absence of Department Head. Orient and train new employees / students.
• Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Specifications :

MLT : An Associate’s degree in Medical lab Technology and a minimum of six months job-related experience or equivalent is required.

RI License and ASCP / AMT is also required.

MT : A Bachelor’s degree in Medical technology or Specific Science and a minimum of six months job-related experience or equivalent is required.

RI License and ASCP or NCA is also required.
