We have a permanent opening for a Lead Controls Engineer for a respected Machine Builder in Grand Rapids, MI area. The company specializes in delivering innovative automation solutions and offers a dynamic work environment with exciting projects in the automation industry.
Position Overview :
We are seeking a seasoned Controls Engineer. The position offers a diverse range of projects, contributing to the growth and development of automation capabilities.
Approximately 20% travel may be required.
Responsibilities :
- Develop electrical solutions for robot automation, process, assembly, welding, and material handling equipment.
- Design and program PLC and HMI software to meet project requirements.
- Program, troubleshoot, and modify automation machines, robotics, and vision systems.
- Provide technical support and assist with system start-ups.
- Manage projects from conception to completion.
Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in PLC and HMI programming; experience with Allen Bradley and Siemens systems preferred.
- Knowledge of robotics programming is advantageous.
- Familiarity with SCADA systems is a plus.
- Experience with AutoCAD or Solidworks Electrical is beneficial.
- Ability to integrate robotics, vision systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics is desirable.
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
- Must be a US Citizen or hold a Green Card.
Compensation and Benefits :
- Competitive hourly rate : $40 - $55 / hour.
