CDL Class A Driver - Touch Freight | $35.00 / hr | Full Benefits in 30 Days

Home base Madison, WI

Schedule : Monday - Friday : early mornings - occasional weekends as fill in

Are you a skilled Class A CDL Driver with hands-on delivery experience? Join our team and put your touch freight expertise to work! This is not a drop-and-go role-we're looking for drivers who are comfortable with physical delivery responsibilities, including loading, unloading, and handling live animal cargo and research-related products.

What We Offer

Key Responsibilities :

Be able to drive and successfully operate a vehicle with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) over 26,000 lbs.

Touch freight required

  • Pick up loads, verify for accuracy, and deliver on time
  • Accurately complete paperwork
  • Load and unload various types of cargo safely
  • Drive safely in various conditions, including heavy traffic and inclement weather
  • Inspect vehicle before start of shift; perform basic truck maintenance when necessary
  • Follow schedule and rest when necessary
  • Be able to read maps and follow directions to a location
  • Provide courteous, professional customer service at all customer locations
  • Be able to repeatedly lift items weighing up to 70 lbs.
  • Drive for long periods of time safely
  • Self-motivated and reliable
  • Able to read maps and GPS
  • Customer service skills
  • Good knowledge of roads and direction, traffic laws, and DOT regulations
  • Multiple delivery stops
  • Other duties as assigned

    • What You Bring :

  • At least 5 years of CDL driving experience
  • Successful completion of a motor vehicle driving record check
  • Able to follow detailed instructions and communicate in English
  • Strong ability to pay attention to detail
  • Possess good customer relations skills
  • Able to lift up to 70 lbs
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Must be available for specialty runs at early hours or for late starts, as needed
