Desktop Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide first-class support to users in person, over the phone, and through tickets.
  • Diagnose and resolve desktop hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot software and applications.
  • Create, modify, and terminate user accounts and access permissions.
  • Assist in testing, designing, and implementing computer systems and workflows.
  • Track open tickets, document resolutions, and follow up with users.
  • Advise and train users on appropriate technology solutions and procedures.
  • Act as back-up support for headquarters Desktop Engineers.
  • Maintain current knowledge of system updates and changes.
  • Prepare reports related to support activities as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, or related field, or High School diploma and equivalent relevant work experience required.
  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience supporting computer hardware / software in a LAN / WAN environment.
  • Minimum 1-2 years' experience supporting computer hardware / software.

    • Qualifications / Skills and Competencies :

  • Knowledge and experience troubleshooting hardware, software, networks, and basic operating system functionality or equivalent.
  • Knowledge and experience supporting Microsoft Office products / Office 365.
  • Proven ability to be adaptable and flexible; able to adjust to new requirements or unforeseen issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on excellent customer service.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional time management skills with ability to prioritize tasks and allocate resources efficiently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to professionally interact with team members in other departments.
  • Proficient in MSO / 365 applications such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
