The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for conducting thorough psychiatric assessments, diagnosing mental health conditions, and providing both short-term and long-term treatment plans. This position plays a critical role in enhancing the mental health and well-being of patients through compassionate care and evidence-based practices. Duties and Responsibilities :
- Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments to identify the mental health needs of patients and establish appropriate care strategies.
- Develop and implement personalized, evidence-based treatment plans, encompassing medication management, psychotherapy, and other therapeutic interventions tailored to individual patient needs.
- Monitor patient progress regularly and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans to ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes and effectiveness.
- Provide immediate crisis intervention and emergency psychiatric care as needed, ensuring a responsive and supportive approach to acute mental health situations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and nurses, to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care.
- Maintain accurate and compliant patient records, adhering to all legal, ethical, and regulatory standards to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of patient information.
- Commit to ongoing professional development by staying informed of the latest advancements in psychiatric care, attending relevant continuing education opportunities, and integrating new knowledge into clinical practice.
- Actively engage in team meetings, case reviews, and quality improvement initiatives to foster enhanced patient care delivery and contribute to improved clinical outcomes.
Qualifications :
A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a specialization in psychiatric-mental health nursing from an accredited program.Current licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) in the state of New Jersey.Board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).Previous experience in a clinical setting as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is preferred but not required for highly qualified candidates.Physical Requirements :
