Summary of Job Duties :
The Service Line Assistant Nursing Director (SLAND), is an integral part of the Primary Care and Population Health Service Line (PCPHSL) Leadership and Integrated Medicine Service Line working closely with the SL Medical Directors, Nursing Director, and SL Administrator to support the mission and vision of the institution.
The SLAND ensures strategic direction of the PCPHSL and IMSL, facilitates quality, patient and family-centered care, outcomes to include patient satisfaction, balanced scorecard performance, and conformance with the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas, accreditation, regulations, and institutional policy.
The SLAND has broad leadership responsibilities for the implementation of nursing and when applicable, other allied discipline functions within the service line.
Qualifications :
Minimum Qualifications :
Masters in Nursing or related field plus ten (10) years of clinical practice experience specifically to include five (5) years of formal nursing leadership experience.
Preferred Qualifications :
Ambulatory Nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities :
- Oversees strategic planning, vision, and mission implementation including broad leadership to foster success at all levels of the Service Line.
- Schedules nurses to ensure clinic is adequately staffed according to standards as defined by UAMS, nursing specialty organizations, and other regulatory bodies.
- Provides support to clinic in regard to hiring, training, budgeting and purchasing.
- Administers direct care services to patients in ambulatory settings.
- Utilizes innovative approaches to improve patient outcomes.
- Collaborates with Nursing Directors in regard to interdisciplinary team care and clinic management.
- Facilitates teams in the development of team goals and standards; evaluates the educational and competency needs of staff.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
