Job Description
Staff Accountant - Inventory is responsible for assisting the Inventory Control Manager in performance of all accounting responsibilities
Essential Functions :
- Monitor, analyze and reconcile GL activity and account balances
- Inventory database closing, review of monthly Inventory reports, monthly journal entries prepared, uploaded, sent to approver and posted
- Interact with the Maintenance department to ensure proper valuation and coding of inventory transactions
- Assists in the preparation and presentation of the quarterly Inventory Variance Analysis meeting
- Miscellaneous monthly reports, analysis of accounts, meetings, and special projects as assigned
- Meet monthly with FP&A analysts, Materials Management and Accounts Payable teams to review monthly inventory activity and account balances
- Speicial projects and additional tasks as assigned.
- Assist with the monthly financial closing process as it relates to inventory accounting
- PMI database closing, monthly PMI reports review, monthly journal entries prepared, uploaded, sent to approver, and posted.
- Valuation of monthly inventory, calculation of reserves, reconciliations of inventory accounts, roll-forwards of inventory accounts.
- Ensure monthly inventory variance analysis reports are prepared and reviewed timely
- Organize and prepare reports for monthly inventory variance analysis
- Communicate with the Material Management Departments
- Maintain PMI GL tables
- Process E-logs for PMI financial issues with Aerosoft.
- Assist in completion of external and internal audit
- Assist in the review of monthly balance sheet account reconciliations that are related to inventory accounting
- Ensure compliance with key internal controls
- Miscellaneous monthly reports, analysis of accounts, meetings, and special projects as assigned
Requirements
- Undergraduate college degree in Accounting or Finance
- Computer literate MS Office, Excel, Access, Sequel, PMI, Oracle
- Advanced excel skills preferred
- Detail oriented
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred requirements
- Previous hands on inventory accounting experience
- Experience with Oracle software
- Airline industry experience
