About The Position
Job Title : Allied Anesthesia TechnologistJob Specialty : Anesthesia TechnologistJob Duration : 13 WeeksShift : Evenings, 5x8-hour shiftsGuaranteed Hours : Not SpecifiedExperience : Minimum Two Years PreferredLicense : Not SpecifiedCertifications : BLS (American Heart Association preferred)Must-Have : Two years of experience as an Anesthesia TechnologistJob Description : - Assist in patient care undergoing anesthesia, including preparation of equipment and placement of monitors.
- Ensure cleanliness and availability of anesthesia equipment and supplies.- Set up medications and supplies as needed.- Communicate with anesthesiologists, residents, CRNAs, and anesthesia technologists to meet needs.
- Assist with difficult intubations and central line catheter placements.- Operate cell-saver machinery, track lab reports, and participate in advanced surgical cases such as cardiac, liver transplant, and trauma.
- Provide on-call coverage.- Ensure anesthesia equipment is in good working order and perform preventive maintenance.- Set up and operate sophisticated equipment, perform advanced troubleshooting, and maintain specialized equipment.
- Aid the Chief Anesthesia Technologist in developing and implementing in-service training programs.- Train staff in anesthesia technologist roles and responsibilities.
- Perform equipment set-up and troubleshooting, test infusion pumps, nerve stimulators, and other medical devices.- Set up rooms and carts between cases and at the end of the day.
- Coordinate with other units for specialized equipment availability.- Provide backup support to the shift supervisor as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or the operations manager.
