Communications Specialist / Writer Fully Remote (from Washington DC area)

Public Trust Position Overview : Nationwide IT Services seeks candidates to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

The Communications Specialist / Writer will produce materials for internal and external audiences to support the agency’s safety mission.

Duties and Responsibilities : Write and edit a range of communications, including newsletter articles, email messages, talking points, technical summaries, executive communications, and more.

Interview content experts and summarize them into informative and engaging technical articles. Generate story leads and reach out to employees to craft inspirational profile articles for a weekly employee newsletter.

Establish working relationships with key stakeholders and provide excellent client support. Adhere to FAA branding guidelines and overarching messaging;

follow AP Style; gracefully accept and incorporate edits; and meet all deadlines. Demonstrate a flexible approach to changing needs, a positive attitude, careful judgment, and generosity as a cooperative team player.

Self-motivation is key, as is dedication to accuracy and a diplomatic approach to shepherding projects through to completion.

Must be able to maintain confidential information and admirably represent the capabilities and professionalism of the NIS team.

Other duties as assigned. Required Job Qualifications : College degree in English, communications, journalism, or a related field.

3+ years of experience and demonstrated excellence in technical or professional writing. GovDelivery email experience is a plus.

Experience using Teams and Microsoft Suite. Experience working as part of a fully remote team. Public trust clearance or the ability to obtain one.

Note : This position is currently fully remote. FAA requirements could change in the future, which necessitates a hybrid schedule (2 days a week on-site at FAA headquarters).
