The Highline Public Schools Department of Digital Transformation is seeking an Assistant Director of Research and Assessment to join our Central Office Leadership Team.
This position works under the direction of the Director of Research and Assessment to support an ongoing program of data literacy, research, assessment, evaluation, and development to enable the district’s continuous improvement in meeting the educational needs of each individual student.
As the Assistant Director of Research and Assessment, this position is designed to build our system’s capacity to develop and use innovative methods and procedures pertinent to instruction and achievement.
They support the coordination and evaluation of the district’s educational research, development programs, and special projects and assist leaders in the preparation and analysis of statistical data as required, with the support of the Research & Assessment Team.
The ideal candidate has an individual commitment to and keen understanding of emerging research and methodologies in the field of technology, curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
Additionally, this role serves as a resource in planning and conducting employee professional development activities around MTSS, evaluation, and how to apply data to practice.
They directly supervise and evaluate staff and work collaboratively with others to improve levels of school achievement, preparing reports for various stakeholder groups.
The ideal candidate appreciates the role of the Digital Transformation Department as a support team for all other departments and schools and seeks opportunities to engage in collaborative leadership.
Please note the following timeline : This position will close at 11 : 30 pm on June 5. HR Minimum Qualification screening and district phone screening will take place on a rolling basis through June 7, followed by site-based screening beginning on June 10.
Interviews are tentatively set to take place the week of June 10.

Qualifications
- Master’s degree in curriculum, instruction, testing / assessment or closely related field, or
- Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years related experience may be accepted as an equivalent.
- Five years of increasingly responsible experience in curriculum, instruction, assessment, data use or equivalent.
Salary
$144, 280 - $159, 258
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the successful implementation of data literacy initiatives at the school level aligned to the district's overarching goals of data-informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Co-Lead the planning, development, and execution of district-wide MTSS initiatives and integration of MTSS using implementation science principles.
- Develop and implement standardized data protocols to ensure consistency and accuracy in data collection, storage, and reporting across the district.
- Collaborate with district leaders to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement based on data analysis.
