POSITION SUMMARY

Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation is looking for a Sign Shop Manager to own the representation of the brand, on-site to the guest, ensuring that communication in-resort represents the resort's vision of "be the friendliest, most welcoming mountain resort in the world."

The ideal candidate would possess 4-6 years of management experience, have a high degree of attention to detail, strong project and stakeholder management experience, ability to translate brand creative into action, and a thorough knowledge of sign design and production.

The Sign Shop Manager will oversee the sign team to design, build, and deliver all resort signage and sign infrastructure as well as ensure all internal and external communication is delivered proactively and with the guest in mind.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Oversee the sign shop team (2 members) to design, produce, install, and enhance all on-mountain and base area signage
  • Manage project intake process, outlining deliverable timelines and adjustments with all stakeholders
  • Provide leadership both within the marketing team and at that resort as a whole, building strong relationships with all stakeholders
  • Understand, embrace and further enhance the Steamboat brand
  • Guide brand experience communication efforts in-resort including select capital projects, partnership activations, events, and other items to be determined

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong influential and collaborative communication skills
  • Working knowledge of sign production
  • 4-6 years of management / supervisory experience
  • High level of attention to detail
  • High level of personal and team ownership
  • Must be authorized to work in the US or have a valid work permit
  • Must have a valid driver's license and meet insurability standards
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication skills both in person and on the phone
  • Strong Computer skills required with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Cloud proficiency
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of people in a cooperative setting
  • Must possess organizational skills and generate accurate work
  • Prioritize and recognize urgent situations
  • Ability to adhere to all safety policies
  • Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with Steamboat Ski & Resort Corp Service Excellence standards

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • B.S. / B.A in Design or equivalent field preferred but not required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to ski / ride at an intermediate level
  • Must be comfortable working both indoors and out
  • Communicate clearly in English, both verbal / non-verbal, and written

WORKING CONDITIONS

Indoor / Outdoor : While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to harsh and varying outside weather conditions.

Hazardous Materials / Noise : The noise level in the workplace is usually moderate.
