Job Summary

Clean and maintain service standards in Backside Dorms, Administration Building and Barn area restrooms. Use various chemicals, supplies, and equipment to complete all housekeeping assignments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead by example.
• Responsible for maintaining a high degree of hospitality, as well as a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
• Creates high levels of morale, fosters teamwork, inspires collaboration, and provides suggestions for growth to management.
• Empty and reline trash / recycling receptacles. Transport waste and recycling to disposal area.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms and common areas. Restock all supplies on a regular basis.
• Wipe tables and TVs, wash windows and door glass in gaming areas.
• Use backpack vacuum cleaner and floor scrubber to clean, sweep, and scrub tile and carpeted floors.
• Demonstrate a willingness to meet deadlines, complete projects accurately, and exceed expectations in a high stress environment of client temperaments and personalities.
• Follows all departmental safety policies and procedures while using chemicals and equipment, reporting safety concerns or equipment problems to supervisor.

Job Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years or older.
• Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds and operate a pressure washer.
• Must be able to pass Canterbury Parks pre-employment screening including a criminal background check, work history verification, drug screening, and safe driving policy.
• Must be able to attain a Minnesota Racing Commission (MRC) license.
• Housekeeping experience helpful.
• Customer service experience preferred.

• Flexibility of schedule is required. Available to work days, nights, weekends and holidays during the live racing season (May-September).
• Requires working outdoors in all weather conditions and extreme temperatures.
