Join our clients San Francisco office as a Paralegal with their Commercial Litigation practice group, bringing two to five years of experience to their dynamic team.
You will play a crucial role in supporting their case teams throughout all phases of litigation, from initial pleadings to post-trial matters.
This position offers motivated individuals interested in law school the opportunity to gain valuable legal experience.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Prepare subpoenas and deposition notices
- Coordinate and manage filings in state and federal courts, both electronically and in paper format
- Handle service of process for state and federal court matters
- Request and organize records, including medical records and authorizations
- Compile cast of characters and chronology of events
- Summarize records and depositions
- Draft form pleadings and discovery requests
- Review court dockets for case updates and information
- Prepare exhibits for motions and depositions
- Conduct social media searches
- Perform cite checking and Shepardizing for legal memoranda
- Maintain case and document databases
- Track discovery requests using spreadsheets
- Coordinate document productions with Practice Technology professionals and vendors
- Manage logistics for depositions, hearings, trials, arbitrations, and mediations
- Prepare trial notebooks and demonstrative exhibits
- Meet the firms billable hours expectations
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree with two to five years of commercial litigation experience in a law firm
- Proficiency in e-filings in state and federal courts
- Familiarity with review tools such as Relativity and TextMap
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word and Excel
- Exceptional organizational, administrative, and communication skills (written and oral)
- High attention to detail, strong work ethic, and self-motivation
- Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Team-oriented with the ability to handle confidential information discreetly
- Willingness to work overtime and travel as needed
Salary Range : Anticipated base salary $80,000 - $130,000 per year, dependent on experience and qualifications.
