Pediatric Nephrology at MUSC Children's Health in Coastal Charleston, SC

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is looking for a board certified or eligible Pediatric Nephrologist with strong clinical and teaching skills to join our Division of Nephrology within the Department of Pediatrics.

As the largest pediatric nephrology program in the state, we provide the most comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic services for children with all types of kidney disease.

We have also expanded and enhanced the states only dedicated multidisciplinary pediatric kidney transplant program and established an independent pediatric continuous renal replacement therapy program.

Ideal candidates will be :

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric Nephrology
• Committed to MUSCs educational and research missions, and to teaching our pediatric nephrology fellows, residents, and medical students

About our opportunity :

• Provide comprehensive specialty care for patients on an inpatient and outpatient nephrology service including management of patients with acute and chronic kidney disease, renal replacement therapy (CRRT, PD, and HD), plasmapheresis, LDL-apheresis, and kidney transplantation.
• New surgical and clinical sites designed exclusively for children
• Join a collaborative and intellectually stimulating team of 4 faculty members and 1 Advanced Practitioner, and our ACGME pediatric nephrology fellow
• Great collaborative relationships with subspecialists and referring agencies including pulmonology, sleep medicine, gastroenterology, rheumatology, ENT, cardiac and surgery
• EPIC medical record platform

In 2020, MUSC Childrens Health opened the S hawn Jenkins Childrens Hospital and Pearl Tourville Womens Pavilion , a 100,000 square foot, 10 floor, state-of-the-art building that is transforming the delivery of fetal, womens and childrens care in the region.

This 250-bed pediatric hospital is home to 89 NICU beds, 25 PICU beds, 36 mother / baby post-partum rooms, 7 couplet care rooms, a military grade helipad, 6 operating rooms, 4 procedures suites, a pediatric MRI scanner, the only comprehensive burn center in the state, and the only Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center in the state.

MUSC Childrens Hospital is the largest referral center in the region, made up of 31 pediatric subspecialties.

The MUSC Childrens R. Keith Summey Medical Pavilion offers comprehensive specialty clinics, outpatient surgery, diagnostic imaging, infusion procedures, and support services such as lab and pharmacy, and urgent care in one convenient location.

This medical pavilion has been designed exclusively for children and offers hassle-free parking, easy access from major roadways and convenient bus transit service.
