Your work environment at EXP
In this role, you will be a part of the Infrastructure & Transportation Practice that is primarily focused on multi-modal transportation and infrastructure projects.
The candidate will work on various projects and act as a member of the infrastructure team and will get an opportunity to work on a wide-range of projects.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
- Perform and lead engineering design tasks for infrastructure projects from conceptual design to final design.
- Develop plans, specifications, quantities, and cost estimates.
- Possess excellent in-depth knowledge of roadway design software tools including MicroStation and OpenRoads.
- Mentor and develop new engineers in transportation and highway design.
- Lead and coordinate design activities between staff, subcontractors, and clients
- Perform technical analyses and reviews of infrastructure projects.
- Support Project Managers to ensure projects meet the defined schedules, cost estimates, and performance / technical measures and specifications.
This includes development of Project Management Plans, Scopes of Work, Cost Estimates, and other project management related activities.
- Assists in preparing and developing proposals, presentations, reports, and studies.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
What your experience looks like
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Engineering required. Preferably in civil, transportation engineering.
- In depth knowledge of MicroStation and Open Roads with a background in 3D modeling.
- Strong technical design background in highway design and transportation engineering.
- Experience with IDOT, Illinois Tollway, CDOT and surrounding County standards and projects.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to direct and supervise staff engineers and technicians
- Basic knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
