ROLE AND PURPOSE :
To provide secretarial services for the Special Education Curriculum Coordinators
QUALIFICATIONS :
Education / Certification :
High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution
Experience :
- Three years successful office experience
- Proficiency in general office skills
- Must possess strong organizational skills, customer service, telephone etiquette, administration support and positive interpersonal skills
- Working knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping
- Knowledgeable in curriculum documents
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES :
INSTRUCTIONAL MANAGEMENT
Maintain all materials, curriculum guides, booklets, software, etc. for curricular and instructional services and supports
SCHOOL / ORGANIZATION CLIMATE
Have a working knowledge of district policies and practices that relate to the department
SCHOOL / ORGANIZATIONAL IMPROVEMENT
Provide clerical and secretarial duties as assigned; including, but not limited to : data entry and processing; spread sheet and database formation;
create and generate reports, work orders, schedules, inventory on hand and reorder lists; other files, proposals and documents as needed
ADMINISTRATION AND FISCAL / FACILITIES MANAGEMENT
- Track, calculate, generate and input budgets; format and generate reports and purchase orders based on that information
- Monitor and balance monthly budget reports and grant reports
STUDENT MANAGEMENT
Process, maintain and track teachers' specialized certifications, campus support requests, and interpreter requests, student information and data
SCHOOL / COMMUNITY RELATIONS
- Perform transactions related to instructional programs, in a knowledgeable manner with parents, community, business and education staff
- Develop, set up and publish communications such as newsletters, flyers and handbooks to parents, businesses, community and / or education staff
PROFESSIONAL GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT
- Attend professional development regarding district wide systems and including data based programs such as PEIMS and TEAMS
- Develop personal growth in electronic and / or computer based systems which will make the organization and department more efficient
