Counselor – Children & Families

Job Description :

The Counselor will provide individual and group therapy for children and families, focusing on emotional wellness, family dynamics, and communication. This role includes developing treatment plans, maintaining accurate documentation, and collaborating with caregivers, schools, and community partners. Services should be trauma-informed, family-centered, and culturally responsive.

Key Responsibilities :

Conduct individual counseling sessions for children and / or parents.

Facilitate family and group therapy to build coping skills and improve communication.

Develop treatment plans and complete progress notes in compliance with TennCare / MCO requirements.

Collaborate with caregivers, schools, and other providers to coordinate care.

Participate in team meetings and case consultations.

Qualifications :

Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.

Tennessee licensure (LPC-MHSP, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent).

Experience providing therapy to children and families.

Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills.
