About This Opportunity

Schedule / Hours : Monday-Saturday (29 hours per week, Between 8am-6 : 30pm)

This position is responsible for :

The Truck Driver Helper assists the Truck Driver in the loading and unloading routine pickups and / or deliveries of material, donated or otherwise, to serve production needs of the store and / or general operation of corps.

Key Responsibilities :

Assist with lifting, stacking, and transporting donated items
Prepare and issue donation receipts to donors
Arrange furniture and other large items in the store as directed
Inspect donations for quality and compliance with store policies

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions :

Ability to meet attendance requirements.

Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively.

Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing.

Duties are performed standing and requires squatting, climbing, bending and walking.

Extensive amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying heavy objects (up to 100lbs.) frequently.

Exposure to outdoor conditions including heat, cold, rain, and dust

Daily travel in Salvation Army vehicles for pickups and deliveries

What We Are Looking For In You

High school diploma or G.E.D. AND

Prior experience assisting with box truck operations OR

Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Licenses and Certifications :

Valid State Driver's License
