In order to provide this expertise, RGS has developed a highly flexible and adaptive team environment and work culture. We utilize technology to support a remote workforce of approximately 100 Advisors.

The Position

Under direction of the Director of Finance Services, the Senior Advisor provides comprehensive financial management services to solve a broad range of complex accounting and finance problem for local government partner agencies as a member of the Finance Services team.

Responsibilities include managing fiscal operations of a wide variety and types of public agencies; leading teams of RGS accounting professionals, performing or supervising complex professional, supervisorial, administrative, and technical accounting and finance functions necessary to maintain the accounting and financial records and systems for local governments;

advising public agency executives and elected officials; planning, organizing, and directing all financial operations.

Education and Experience :

Any combination equivalent to experience and education that could likely provide the required knowledge and abilities would be qualifying.

A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be :

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university, preferably with a major in accounting, business, or public administration, emphasis in accounting or finance is desirable.
  • Five years of progressively responsible accounting or finance management experience at a Director or Department Head level in a public agency.
  • Willing to consider experience that may not be within a public agency if it applies to the qualifications of this position.

APPLICATION PROCESS AND SELECTION PROCEDURE :

Appraisal Process (Pass / Fail) After the closing deadline, applications will be screened in relation to the criteria indicated in this announcement.

This process may also include various interviews and / or a skills assessment exam to rank applications, and to prepare a Qualified Candidate List.

Application Minimum Qualification Assessment - (Pass / Fail) All completed applications and supplemental questionnaires will be reviewed and assessed for each applicant's ability to meet the minimum work experience, training, and education qualifications.

Remote Screen Interview Exam (Pass / Fail) Candidates who pass the application assessment will be invited to a Remote Screen Interview Examination to evaluate training, experience, and other job-related qualifications for the position.

The Remote Screen Interview will be conducted via a video conference platform and is tentatively scheduled to take place at the end of September 2024.

Successful qualified candidates will be submitted to RGS for further consideration.
