General Summary of Position

Professional care provider who assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the nursing care of patients from admission through discharge.

In collaboration with the patient and family, provides theory-based professional nursing care and coordinates care delivery with various members of the interdisciplinary team

PRN Group III / B Nurse - Neurotelemetry & Stroke Intermediate Care Unit (S3-2) (Georgetown)

This unit is a certified by The Joint Commission as a comprehensive stroke center, setting the hospital's treatment of stroke patients among the best in the nation.

MedStar Georgetown is now one of only 156 healthcare organizations in the United States to have earned this certification in highly-specialized stroke care.

Our Neurotele / Stroke department is one of MedStar Georgetown's three collaborative inpatient Neurological / Neurosurgical Units which are part of our nationally renowned Neurosciences Center of Excellence.

The patient population served here is primarily Ischemic Stroke Patients, Post-acute Hemorrhagic Stroke Patients, EMU (Continuous EEG Monitoring) patients and other Neurosurgery and Neurology patients requiring telemetry monitoring.

The nursing team is a highly educated and motivated group of professionals that participate in collaborative governance, achieves certifications, and drives positive patient outcomes.

Education : Associate degree from an accredited School of Nursing required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.

Experience : At least two (2) years recent acute care experience in the relevant patient care area required.

License / Certifications : Registered Nurse (RN) State Licensure in the District of Columbia required. Certification in Basic Life Support required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities : Verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills required.

  • Incorporates evidence-based practice and research in daily activities with a focus on quality and safety.

This position has a hiring range of $38.00 - $63.30
