We have an immediate opportunity for an Interim Controller level role with a growing central Phoenix company!
Hybrid role - 3 days in the office, 2 days working from home
What you will be doing :
Assuming complete responsibility for month-end closing processes including, but not limited to, reviewing balance sheet account reconciliations, journal entries, etc.
while ensuring that the monthly close checklist is adhered to such that all required tasks are completed timely.
- Reviewing / participating in the preparation of financial statements, including schedules supporting footnote disclosures, and management reports.
- Providing support to and supervise the activities of team members
- Ensuring that documented policies and procedures are adhered to maintain SOX compliance.
- Participating in the annual audit process to ensure that requested schedules and information is being provided to external auditors
- Responding to ad-hoc requests for financial information.
To be successful in the role you ll need :
- Solid experience serving as a corporate controller for a large company.
- Knowledge of requirements to maintain SOX compliance.
- Experience providing external auditor requests and interacting directly with auditors.
- Sense of urgency and proven ability to multi-task and work quickly to meet timelines; ability to keep people on task to hit deadlines.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills and demonstrated level of professionalism when communicating.
