Pay Range : $15.00 to $17.00 based on qualifications and experience

SUMMARY :

Under the general direction from the Parks and Recreation Director performs a wide variety of general administrative and technical duties as needed to coordinate the day-to-day operation of the Recreation Center.

This is a Limited Part-Time position usually working an average of 20 hours or less per week (on-site) on an annual basis.

Limited part-time employees are not eligible for benefits and are at-will employees.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED :

Works under the general supervision of the Parks Superintendent and Recreation Superintendent.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED :

May supervise various part-time, seasonal, and volunteer personnel.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

Must be able to anticipate project needs, discern work priorities, and meet deadlines with little supervision.

Must be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.

Handles incoming and phone patrons on a day-to-day basis, accepting registration, payment, and providing customer service for programs or in-house activities.

Assists and / or oversees program promotions.

Manages Park and pavilion reservations.

Assists in web design.

Oversees lost and found.

Assists with Community events as needed.

Keeps record of finances, including check requests, invoicing, and reporting.

Coordinate appointments, schedules, meetings, and site visits.

Prepare and modify event contracts and schedules as requested.

Assist the Director, Superintendents, and Coordinators with program preparation as needed.

Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. Education and Experience :

Sufficient education and training to demonstrate an ability to perform the above and related duties.

2. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Knowledge and proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and mail merges, email, and web searches.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, young people, volunteers, and customers.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and proofreading skills.

3. Special Requirements :

Must possess and maintain a valid Utah Driver's License.

Sufficient vision, hearing and stamina to perform the above functions are required. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT :

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works indoors in an office environment but may be exposed to outside weather conditions on occasion.

The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and / or humid conditions, fumes, and toxic or caustic chemicals.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet while in the office or moderately noisy when in the field.
