The Role :
Our site in Danbury, CT is seeking a Senior Engineer, Product Development to join our team. The Entegris Specialty Gas and Etch research, development, and engineering team is looking for an Engineer to help with the development of new products. The primary responsibility of the engineer is to own the process development aspects for the new products along with developing the test methodology to validate and qualify a new design. As a Product Engineer, one is required to establish themself as a subject matter expert on the products and systems that enable the safe and reliable storage and delivery of hazardous materials. This position is expected to support a diverse global cross functional team.
What You'll Do :
Develop and execute a strategy for scaling up processes from proof of concept to a pilot scale system.
Create and execute experimental test plans to characterize the performance and reliability of components in a fluid storage and delivery system.
Author and review standard operating procedures, batch records, and process documentation.
Innovate to improve technical capabilities for the team. Make proposals for developing new or improving existing products and processes.
Support technical leaders in a stage-gate process and be accountable for executing assigned tasks as committed. Understand project management tools such as gantt charts for efficient execution of assigned tasks.
Communicate efficiently and timely with various audiences. Select proper media, level of details, and manner for conveying technical reports, project risks, safety incidents, conflicts, etc. without clogging communication channels.
Adhere to policy of zero release of any hazardous materials - no exposure is a key aspect of workplace safety, especially for personnel working with hazardous materials. Wearing PPE suitable for handling highly toxic, flammable, and / or corrosive materials including level B SCBA, full face respirators, full body vapor impenetrable hazmat suits, etc. will be required .
What We Seek :
BS or MS in Chemical / Mechanical Engineering
5+ years of experience in specialty gas or related industry
Proficient with process simulation software
Knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and mass transfer principles.
Able to work fully on-site both in a lab and office environment.
Able to lift and move gas cylinders weighing up to 50lbs.
Ability to work in SCBA for duration of 30min. at a time.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient with MS office suite or related software.
Outstanding Candidates Will Have :
Experience with handling and purification or hazardous materials
Strong analytical skills including experience with GC, FTIR, and RGA.
