Toast is looking for a Senior Retail Risk Strategy Manager to build a compliant retail program as a payment facilitator. You will be responsible for designing Toast’s long-term retail strategy as it relates to risk management, building prohibited and restricted item protocols, and participating in the vendor selection process as required to support the program.
The ideal candidate is ready to build a program from the ground up and hire and manage a team of analysts in the future.

- Build out Toast’s retail risk strategy, defining acceptance criteria and prohibited and restricted item protocols
- In the future, hire and develop a team of customer-facing analysts who support Toast restaurants through their compliance journey with an emphasis on education
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures for a team of analysts to monitor and take action on potential non-compliance violations
- Select and maintain relationships with vendors that could be used to build the program
- Act as a main point of contact for Toast’s partners who rely on or assess our obligation as a payment facilitator towards compliance of our merchant portfolio, and participate in partner audits
- Liaise with Compliance, Legal, Sales, and other teams to ensure that operational merchant-related policies and procedures are in alignment across the organization
Do you have the right ingredients* ? (Requirements)
- Have experience building a merchant compliance monitoring program (retail preferred) and leading a team of analysts
- 5+ years of experience working with different sizes of merchants and compliance programs
- Must be highly motivated and able to work within tight deadlines
- Ability to work cross-functionally and you have strong communication skills
- Experience working with customers or managing customer-facing teams

The base salary range for this role is listed below. The starting salary will be determined based on skills and experience.
In addition to base salary, our total rewards components include cash compensation (overtime, bonus / commissions if eligible), equity, and benefits.
