Job Description
- Design, implement, troubleshoot, and sustain Linux based physical and virtual machines for the Missile Defense Space Center
- Administer container platforms such as OpenShift, Docker, and Podman as-well-as maintain multiple repositories / registries
- Oversee and perform the hardening of operating systems and STIG compliance
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, DevSecOps, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure system administration and compliance practices are maintained
- Manage / delegate tasking derived from project, sustainment, and break / fix sources
- Manage / mentor a team responsible for ensuring system software installations, maintenance, break / fix activities, and cyber security mitigations are performed in accordance with established policies, procedures, and service level agreements
- Develop and maintain system administration procedures and baseline configuration documentation
- Focus on creating, upgrading, managing, and sustaining physical and virtual workstations

Requirements
Education / Training :
Bachelor’s Degree in an IT or STEM related fieldMust have, or obtain within 60 days of hire, a computing environment Linux certificationMust have, or obtain within 60 days of hire, a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g. Security+)Experience :
5+ years of directly related experience in UNIX and / or Linux systems administrationExperience administering a Red Hat Linux environmentSecurity :
Must be a US citizenCandidate must be in possession of a minimum DoD issued Secret ClearancePhysical Requirements :
Able to occasionally reach with hands and armsProlonged periods of computer screen use, while sitting or standing at a deskAdhere to safety protocols when in work areas requiring use of PPE (e.g. eyewear, gloves, masks, hearing protection, steel toed shoes, etc.)Able to safely lift and carry up to 20 pounds at a timeBenefits
